With Hide Folders XP tutorial you'll learn how to use Hide Folders XP to hide and unhide folders, use password protect option and some other useful tricks.
With your Windows Explorer or your favorite file manager create a test folder
you will try to hide (e.g. C:\TestFolder).
Copy some test files into this folder.
Start Hide Folders XP application (Start/Programs/Hide Folders XP/Hide Folders XP).
Select Add to list item from the Folders menu.
Browse to C:\TestFolder in appeared dialog and click OK button
Make sure that C:\TestFolder appears in your folders list.
Select Hide folders item from the Folders menu.
Start your Windows Explorer or your favorite file manager to be sure that C:\TestFolder
disappears.
Attention: It is possible that you will see C:\TestFolder or its contents
in your file manager if it was running prior to hiding. You have to refresh
the file list of the file manager and C:\TestFolder will disappear.
Activate Hide Folders application by clicking on its icon in the system tray.
Select Quit and hide folders item form the Folders menu.
Restart your computer.
After restart your C:\TestFolder is still invisible.
Start Hide Folders XP application again.
Select Unhide folders item form Folders menu.
Start your Windows Explorer or your favorite file manager to ensure that C:\TestFolder is visible again.
To make C:\TestFolder visible after quit Hide Folders XP:
Activate Hide Folders XP application by clicking on its icon in the system tray Select C:\TestFolder from Folders list Select Remove from list item from Folders menu |
Select Tools->Change password from the main menu.
If you have already had a password, password prompt window appears - enter you
current password and click OK.
Change password window appears.
Enter and confirm your password in the corresponding lines and click OK.
If the password and confirmation password don't match OK button will be disabled.
Quit Hide Folders XP(Folder->Quit)
Start Hide Folders XP again. The password prompt window appears. Hide Folders XP main window will appear only if you enter a valid password.
